Here's a link to an article on IGN detailing how the game publishers are now looking into charging people to play their games online even on consoles not just with PC games like WOW, possible starting as soon as the release of the new Call of Duty game. WTF, we already have to pay for the game, the DLC, and for Xbox live there is no way that I'm gonna pay to play individual games online, what a joke. What's everyonelse's thought's on this?

Definately wont do it to play Crap of Duty, thats for sure. Game developers will lose way too much money and fan base if they try and implement this crap with all games, only company that said they actually wanted to do it last I heard was *big surprise* activison.

60% of the subscribers for XBL do it for MW2???? Maybe 60% have PLAYED MW2 at some point, but that is such crap and trying to drum up your own franchise and whine about not having money. While the guy's suit is probably worth as much as my car, and his car is worth as much as my house.

Screw Activision. Screw monthly payments for online games on XBL or PSN.

Yeah that shit is ridiculous. If it did happen to all games, I would be forced to switch to PSN since its free (unless LIVE became free, which is highly unlikely). And I would probably only play to pay like one game. But even before I did ALL of that....i would just get a beastly PC for gaming.

Seroiusly though. Watch Activision start charging for MW3 (or whatever they make next) and watch half the people not pay for it. We're already paying per month for this service, I mean EA closes servers which we "pay" for, and now charges us a one time fee, which is bad enough. I hope this guy does some crappy stuff for Activision and we as the gamers stand up and say no and he gets canned and put in a person who, I don't know, actually CARES about the gamers.

I understand making money but I kid you not, give me a few years in the business to understand the ins and outs and I would do a better job.

I have a PC and an Xbox. I have no problems paying for MMOs (which I don't play anymore) but any other type of game is unacceptable.

There is a simple cure to this madness though. Don't support the blood thirsty companies that start this.. Buy from good honest companies... Like EA!

EA, you mean the company that is now charging you to play online for games like the tiger woods series or madden and soon to be the rest of their games if you buy a game used from gamestop or ebay?

One person starts then more follow! If this shot starts happening I'll stop buying cod games.. And possibly Activision games altogether. There are plenty of companies that make games for the love of it, and for their fans; not for a bunch of money. Screw you, Activision!

Not really. I paid 60 bucks for a game called Sky Kid when I was younger. That was for the NES and you would laugh to think about paying 60 for it now.

The systems do cost a bit more but when coupled with inflation and the fact they do a LOT more than they used to do, its worth it.

The thing is we don't really pay a lot more than we used to pay. And even if you want to argue me that point, we GET a lot more than we used to get.

Whats irritating is we are paying for XBL to play games online. If there is going to be a fee for every game we get to play online then they need to stop charging us for an XBL subscription. Plain and simple.

I'm totally down with boycotting Activision. Those bastards made Pitfall. Have you ever WON that game? Bunch of a-holes if you ask me :laugh:

Anyone who created pitfall just has to be evil. Damned alligators and damned scorpions. I didn't want the gold bar to begin with, just let me out of this jungle!!!!!!!
