You know I do love it when obscure jap games come stateside as there are usually a few great hits, EX: Agarest, P3, etc. Honestly not a fan of rail shooters but still nice to see them taking chances with games like these hopefully there will be more to come(Im looking at you A.C.E).

You guys are confusing me with the use of two different terms.
As I understand it, Rail shooters are like House of the Dead, ie your character is on rails, and are usually in first-person.
Shmups are scrolling shooters where you can move your character/ship/whatever around.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong or that this is the definitive way, I'm just saying that's how I know it, and I want to know which one Otomedius Excellent is!
Either way, I'm interested to try it out! Just probably not for $60.
And I can't wait to try Deathsmiles, too.
