no this is when you put a game in and it just keeps saying "open tray" and never reads the disk
dude i have the same problem! IT WONT F***ING PLAY THE GAME....i went to best buy and it worked for them but not us......its really gay....its seems to be getting worse :( .i try 3 times restart...try 3 times..unplug...bam it actually works...also try turning it on and dont touch a thing just wait....it might work...also i install the games i like....its faster

no its not that I don't trust you. If that works more power to you, I just think its funny of the idea of beating it to make it work. It makes me think of powerwashing to get the insides clean too. lol

I have that problem sometimes too. The thing that always works for me is I take whatever disk out and close the tray with no disk. The xbox makes a reading sound and than it will tell you to open tray. Than put in game and it always works for me. So you can try that next time. Also DO NOT try and open and close the tray as fast as you can to get it to work, that breaks the disk drive and then you can't fix it.

When microsoft figures out how to put together a "STURDY" tree house they might make a tree house but is it sturdy? anyway now will u try my solution?

so apparently the more recent xbox's have white disk trays and not silver ones... who knew? haha i named my new one Lou in case you all were wondering

Mine started doing this last week and everyday it took me more and more times opening and closing the disc tray till it finally reads the disc but I got home today and I tried for almost a hour and nothing! I have 3 broken systems in the closet so I'm going to try and piece one together but if that doesn't work I will head to bestbuy and buy another one! It will be lucky #6 if it comes to that!
It's the only thing that PS3 wins me over on. I bought a PS3 when it first came out and it still works like a charm! I only watch bluerays on it now but it still works!
