New guy with a problem.

I signed up to see if anyone could help me with my problem. I have an xbox 360 slim (4 gb) and a couple days ago I turned it on and wouldn't go past the first screen when it shows the xbox logo. Anyone know if it's an easy fix?

take your hard drive out and put it back in firmly.

that has happened to me a few times, but i just unplugged the power source (because it wouldn't turn off when I hit the power button) and then it would work fine for me.
I'd say press the hard drive in firmly like Chaind said but that's the only thing i can think of. Sorry you're having this problem.

I'd try unplugging everything. Unplug the power bar from the wall, unplug the cord from the power bar and unplug the power bar from the console. Unplug anything you may have plugged into a usb port as well. If that doesn't work go to xbox.com/support.

How long do you leave your console on after it freezes? After 60 seconds, an error message and code may pop up. If it does and the error code is e71, it might not be a console problem. E71 is a failed dashboard update that could be as simple as resetting your cache and updates.

I've left it on for like five mins at one point, but nothing. It won't even go to the dash board (It stops before that) I've left everything unplugged for 2 days and still won't work. I got it as a graduation gift in may but they didn't get the warranty and I don't think they have the receipt.

wait, if it's a 4 GB, it HAS to have an HDD. Xbox never made a built in memory unit, if i remember correctly. dude, with your xbox down, look on the right side of it. there should be a small square panel. pull the panel towards you and it should pop out revealing the brick drive. lol. just pull it out and push it back in. i have, essentially, the same type xbox as you and that's where mine is.

Regardless it should have a microsoft warranty. I used to know the link to that on the xbox webpage on how to get repairs done, but they've changed the site at least twice since I used it.
I would suggest going that route if you don't know where it was purchased/don't have a receipt.
