I actually wish they would do visual novels here. If the writing is good, then hell, entertainment is entertainment and you'd get Achievements to boot.

I stand by the "dream text novels" in Lost Odyssey. It's available in the USA xbox360 for like $10. Not an import. Was a passion project by the creators of Final Fantasy. If that entire damn-10/10 RPG was only just the "dreams", I'd still be singing its praises. youTUBE it if you don't believe me- & I dare you not to feel something. Totally agree with Meta.
FYI- just ordered wayyyyy too many imports. But I love what comes out Japan. Akira Kurosawa & Hayao Miyazaki notwithstanding, we owe a lot of why gaming is great today- to unsung heroes that picked Atari's ball out of the Nevada desert, & ran with it. Gaming innovation in 2013 is squarely in the West, but like any Art, it helps to have an appreciation, or at least exposure, to different views.

Visually pleasing? Repo you just shared a photo from heaven. Maybe one day you can write 10 import commandants, so others may gain from your wisdom. Respect

Looks like I'll be busy for awhile
Interestingly, Dragon Age Origins seems to include all the DLC (with Awakening) in the standard version. I wasn't aware of that. From what I've read, the best Asian exclusive is Stein's Gate Double pack- both games in one. I got these at very fair prices on USA amazon, just do a little digging & you'll find retails stateside that won't charge you an arm & a leg

Wanted to update this for anyone looking to import. Obviously, check Achievement sites to see if a game you like will stack achievements. But it doesn't say how easy it will be to play the game. Here's my info after having played them:
Mass Effect 2 Japan - VERY EASY Voices are all in English & the game even has all English text, you can change it to Japanese if you want, but off the bat everything's in English
Dragon Age 1 & 2 - EASY Voices are all in English, text & menus are in Japanese can't change that. In Dragon Age 2, the character choices have those icons over them (paragon, renegade, etc), so DA2 is slightly easier to tell what you're picking in conversations.
Mafia 2 - EASY Voices are all in English, text & menus are in Japanese can't change that.
Witcher 2 - VERY EASY are voices in English & the game menus start out all English too
Catherine - MODERATE, English on the title screen, but the whole game & voices are in Japanese
So if you don't know a lick of Japanese, you'll have no trouble with Mass Effect 2 or Witcher 2, since everything starts out standard in English.

Nice info Sean! I would just add for the %100 completion seekers that Mass Effect 2 JP has 2 unreleased dlc achievements.

I found through trueachievements that there's only 42 people in the world (registered) who have completed Mass Effect 2 (JP). It still counted my 1000g as full completion. Most of the other users were japanese. (shrugs) So it's kind of cool to be the 42nd person ever, to get 1000g in such an awesome game. The 1000g still counted, is what I'm saying.
Also... LAME that Witcher 2 (JP) removes the nudity, too. It's almost comical. Triss in the opening bedroom scene, instead of being completely naked, is wearing a white nighty. Still an awesome game, but what a tease.
