get the x1's for like 60 bucks, but if you really want these, then yes it's a very good headset.

Agreed, I've been researching these like crazy lately...I'd go to turtlebeach.com and buy a pair of refurbished x4's if I were you. $130 and they come with a 1 year warranty.

Hell no.
That's 1/3rd of a PS3.
Or 2 new games?

I would have to say a headset is never worth $100. Go buy something useful with that money. The most expensive headset I've ever bought was one for my computer ($20..) so I could use Rosetta Stone. So, no.

I don't get it... what is the reasoning behind buying expensive headsets? Like... why would you need them? Are they for people who REALLY like the music in their games, or are they more for people who play a lot of FPS games online? What is the benefit to these vs- say, just the crappy headsets that come with the 360? Do they do something special????
My friend's in COD4 and WAW swear by them. Especially in Search and Destroy, and definately if your a camper.

ok ill say my speech again. i use to just buy the crappy microsoft ones all the time. i would go through a headset on an average of 1 a month. then i decided to go with the wireless microsoft one and it crapped out in the same amount of time. now dont get me wrong i dont abuse my stuff. i probably take more care of my gaming stuff than anyone here. so i did the math. and i was spending well over 100 bucks a year buying shitty headsets.
so i did the research and decided to buy the turtle beach x4's based on reviews for the product. so i went to best buy and bought the headset for $200 and then bought the best buy 2 year replacement plan for $30. so for 230 i now have a wonderful headset and a warranty to cover it for the next 2 years.
so to end it all if i would have kept buying shitty headsets i would have spent almost 300 in 2 years, instead i spent 230 for one excellent pair that will last AT LEAST 2 years.
also since they are fading out the x4's i can go back to best buy and say mine are broken and get the new x41's to replace them.
