I've stopped trading in games and started using Goozex. You can't really get recent releases, but you do get a lot more value for your trade ins. Basically, you offer a game, someone else requests it, and then you send it to them. You get credited the worth of the game which is determined by Goozex. Then, you can request games yourself using the points you just got. Also, it costs $1 per game you request.
I was able to trade in Halo 3 and get Mass Effect and GUN.

you get screwed trading in that's all there is to it. unless you take advantage of their extra 20% trade in value offers towards the the reservation of a new release and you have an edge card to get the extra 10% on your trades, it's always gonna be a big loss of $$$$. i try to hold back on getting new releases (unless i have to have it now) because some new titles will drop after just a couple of months and you can pick them up used for a lot less.

If you have a local Gamecrazy trade it in there instead of Gamestop. I traded in my new madden on psp to gamecrazy and got $30 store credit.

GameCrazy is the way to go. I got 45 bucks for two Wii games a few weeks ago. Marvel Ultimate Alliance got $37 and I got $8 for Wii Play. But if they don't give me enough then I'd try to sell it for your price. I'd rather sell it to a friend for GameStop's price than to let them have it

you can look at the what there selling for on amazon and see if it'd be worth selling it there. i only trade games if i know that there is absolutely no way that i will play it again otherwise i keep it because its not worth it. also its best to wait until they have a special promotion going on to trade in your games because you may get more if you trade in multiple games at once.

Craigslist, Ebay, and Goozex are the only way to go honestly. Like boobs said its a really good trade system there. I havnt used it, but i know quite a few people who have.

Like Master Livewire said, unless you take advantage of there deals they have going on, you'll get screwed at Gamestop. A few months ago I traded in a bunch of games and got over $200 because they had a deal for every 1 game you traded in...you get $10 ADDED to the next you trade in at that same time.
That would be the only time I would suggest trading in a game at gamestop, but only if you have a few you want to trade in.
Other than that, yeah, mos def use the other resources everyone else has already mentioned
hell when I was getting my 360, I took all my PS2 games and made a list, and had them for $10 to $30 (depending on how new the game was) and I took the list to work and sold them that way...I made a lot of money doing that....Just another idea for ya, sell them to friends They come in handy, not only to drive you home when your too drunk to drive yourself
