Ed, Edd, n Eddy takes place in a world where all the children are dead.
That's why you never see their parents, that's why summer last forever,
that's why the sky is a weird color, that's why they're never seen
outside of the cul-de-sac. The children all come from different time
periods, Johnny and Rolf from the 40's, Naz from the 60'...s, Kevin from
the 90's, Jimmy from the 00's (anon was correct). They are trapped in
the cul-de-sac, which is made up of older houses because of its creation
in the early 40s, due to their best memories being created there.

Some really crazy people on 4chan came up with these theories explaining a lot of child hood cartoons and movies.

....or how about we just accept the show as it is and don't question things like that?

although i won't lie, i have in the past wondered about their families, the world outside the cul-de-sac, and other unexplained things.

i love the show and it's my favorite cartoon on Cartoon Network. seen every episode and love them. the new series where they went to school was a little bit weird, but still entertaining none the less and adds a much needed change of scenery/pace to the show.

Wow thats pretty cool, the creator of the show passed away a while ago im pretty sure. But they do go outside to the kanker's and thats in the woods, they go to school in the newer episodes, and in a couple episodes they go to a construction site.

this other dudes theory ruined 1/4 of my childhood. its about how EVERYTHING in pokemon after ash goes into a coma in like the first 10 episodes (i forget which one) is all in his head. and actually, it all makes too much sense to just be a coincidence....kinda like this, to an extent...except eddies brother was in one of the episodes, so im not so sure about this. it is semi-believable tho, but idk..

but that dudes pokemon theory ruined my whole life because it made too much sense NOT to be true

Yeah I agree with Khaotic, its just a show and that's how I look at it. This kind of stuff if interesting though, even if it is stupid to believe.

yes, this HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE pokemon theory. about how everything after he 'came out of his coma' was really him still in his coma and it all in his head. and everything related back to him, and his body trying to fight his mind out of the coma but his mind wanting to stay in it. its really weird but so crazy and makes too much sense and makes me sad D:
