well I belive most holidays are junk these days most of the meaning has been washed away by corperation greed, but I still tell my mother happy mothers day each year. she knows my opinion on holidays an such but its the second day she gets to be special the first day is my birthday wich she loves to bug me on lol.

I want to start this off by saying you're a retard. Mother's day is a huge deal. That's like someone going up to you on your birthday and saying that shit, you don't wanna hear it on a day that's supposed to revolve around you, it would make you pissed. Plus the fact it's your mom, and she's raised, taken care of, and maintained you, and you know gave birth to you. It's an important day and to deny her that with the comments you made made her feel disrespected, in some way less loved. You should take her out to dinner or something nice to show you appreciate her.

I can honestly say that if when I were young, if I had said something like that to my mom, she would have slapped the taste right out of my mouth. I have great deal of respect for my mother for raising my sister and I by herself after my douchebag of a father left us.
What you need to do is figure out what your mother loves. If she loves flowers, get her flowers. Stuffed animals, get her stuffed animals. But make it something so that she knows that it is personal and from the heart. Don't make it seem as if you are apologizing because it is the right thing to do. Make sure that she knows it is because you are truly sorry and didn't mean to hurt her the way that you did.
