Since the last thread was archived and I couldn't find a newer one and I wanted to share my story I started a new thread.

Anyway, my sisters and brother always played games and my closest sister, in age, is 10 years older than me. So when I was 3, It was about 1998 and I lived in Chicago, Resident Evil was the new big game. My sister would play it all the time, and I would want to watch her, but she was like "No, you're gonna have nightmares." But i was like I don't care. So she let me watch and then I would always wake her up in the morning and tell her that I had a nightmare. :) I'm so stupid. But whatever then I got to actually play Resident Evil and that's what got me big into gaming. That and Metal Gear Solid, which I used to play with my mom. So then I got really big into Madden and other sports games until I moved to Wisconsin in 2004 and got a PS3 in 2008. I got Call of Duty: World at War and it was really fun. I sucked but whatever. I then got MW2 and I sucked at that too. And finally I got an Xbox in 2010 and got rid of my PS3 to my "nephew"(long story). So I got Black Ops of course and that's when I realized CoD sucks. So I played Black Ops and I still was pretty big into CoD so I bought MW3 Hardened Edition and I that is probably my most regretful buy ever... So now I'm back to sports games and single-player games. Perfect timing too. Resident Evil 6 and Metal Gear Rising should be coming out this year. Pretty stoked. Am I still gonna play CoD?? Yeah. Am I gonna be playing it as much? Hell no.

EDIT: I missed a big chunk of my life, I just realized. I also played a lot of Sega and Nintendo and SNES when I was about 4-5 years old. Toejam and Earl=Awesome and Confusing at the same time. Haha

I started gaming when I was younger on the original Nintendo. We would always play Mario on there. I finally had gotten a playstation when I got older and played that all the time mainly sports games and the Tony Hawk games. Then I got the original Xbox because that was the in thing. I stuck mostly to the sports games then but I also started to play games like halo. My dad got me an Xbox 360 the year after it came out. I started out only playing Madden on the 360 and NFS. However, when the new Halo came out is when I really started playing online and buying more kinds of games. I still stick mainly to sports games but I have broadened my games to include a lot of Call of Duty, Halo, Assassins Creed, and even music games. It started off playing with my family on the Nintendo to me now playing online with my friends.

Sometime around the mid 70s my mother bought Pong for me. A couple years later I graduated to an Atari console. Moved up to a(n) NES when it released. I was a freshman in High School at that time. Once I graduated HS and went to the Navy I got away from gaming for a very long time. My next console experience was playing games on my son's PS1. A few years after that, I bought myself an original Xbox and the addiction came back full throttle.

I may start slowing down in the near future. I simply hate the direction in which gaming is headed. Every game that used to be pure awesome is now chalk-full of nonsense. I'm too old to worry about ridiculous shit like jetpacks and trophy systems. I miss the old plain vanilla shooters :( I'll likely dabble in gaming until the day I die but I won't be nearly as active as I am now if this trend continues. Like Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon..."I'm getting too old for this shit"

I don't remember how old I was but I came home from school and my grandparents had bought me a NES with about 20 games at a yard sale just because they thought it looked cool. From that moment I was hooked. My favorites back then were the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt game, a Kirby game I can't remember the name of, and as gay as it is, a Little Mermaid game that was hella fun.

my parents had a NES that i played sometimes when I was younger, didn't really get into gaming until i had the chicken pox and they came home with a PS1 with final fantasy 8 and mega man legends. it was all over after that.

when they came home they said they brought something I wanted to help me feel better, I thought it originally was gonna be an optimus prime action figure lol.

My uncle lost part of his thumb doing drywall, due to this his doctor prescribed physical therapy by playing video games. When i was a child me and my uncle used to play the original playstation's Tony Hawk pro skater for hours on end. Eventually my uncle sold me the playstation for $1 and since then i have pretty much been a gamer.
