Her fault or mine

Here's the situation. My neighbors asked me to take them to the airport yesterday morning before work. I did that and I parked their vehicle behind my g/f's when I got back. Her and I carpool to work and its my week to drive. For whatever reason she had to drive seperately this morning. Last night I told her to be careful cuz of the car parked behind hers. She says: "no shit honey, I'm not stupid." Now our driveway is fairly large and there is more then enough room to get around a vehicle especially since I was already gone. Its about a 25 to 30 foot walk from our front door to where her car was parked. Plenty of time and space to see that there was another car parked directly behind hers right? Wrong!!!!!! She backed right into it. There wasn't much damage but as anyone knows, those little things end up costing a sh_t load in the end. She called me at work to tell me what happened and insinuated that if I had parked the car in the neighbors driveway it wouldn't have happened. She is right in a sense but my question to you all is who is really at fault. Who should bare the financial burden of having to get their car repaired? And please folks. Gimme a reason for your response.

Her's. All state driving laws state that if you back into something / someone you are at fault.

Its her fault for hitting it. Who the fuck gets into their car, and doesn't see a car behind them? And then proceed to back up without looking?
But also.... its your fault for putting it there, when it could have went right back into your neighbors driveway.
I say you both pay for it.

Even considering that I told her about their car being behind hers?

If the answer is no, which would now be my answer, pack your stuff and leave.

no dude, fuck that....it's her fault...she should have looked behind her before she started back up. You WOULD have been at fault if you hadn't of told her that you parked it behind the car, but you did...taking all blame away from you.
I would have been more sympathetic to her if I was you, until she said "no shit I'm not stupid" then I wouldn't give a damn, she can pay for it....LoL
Sorry your in this situation dude, I hope you get it worked out fairly......fairly being HER paying for it, lol

sorry to double post, but I agree with Mo, if you are married or want to have a future with her, then you guys would end up paying for the damage together...but if you dont see/want a future with this chick....pack up and leave or kick her out........or just make her deal with it and pay for the damage....but i would leave
once again dude, sorry you are going through this

You all are so wrong. I have been married for 9 years. You know what you'll learn out of that kind of adventure? It's always the guys fault. You'll never win the argument with her and to get her to shut up and enjoy some peace and quiet, you're just going to have to lay there and take it.

Okay guys. Our future is certain. The question was more for discussion and debate. We are actually getting married in September. I'm pretty sure she was trying to joke when she said it was my fault. After looking at it again the damage is no more the 50 bucks. In my humble opinion she was very lucky that it was such a small area of impact and damage. Even if it was an option to part ways its my f_ckin house!!!! If anyone leaves it would be her. Lol. You know what would be sh_tty??? If I gave her a citation for improper backing or unsafe movement. Lol
