I think this is a very cool idea. But unfortunately with a baby on the way and school and soon work to worry about as well - I can't bring myself to join. I'm too competitive and would probably ignore more important things to try to win a competition

Just an idea. Instead of having the winner determined by the amount of points they get in a month (3 months) make a schedule and each week you play a different team. Top 4 teams go into a play off. Total points could be used as a tie breaker. If a team comes out and scores 20-30 thousand points in the first week that is going to make some of the other teams give up. This way strategy comes into play. You want to beat the team you are playing that week but you don't want to unload all your waffles. Keeps things more interesting because all the teams are still involved in it every week.

I think it is a good idea.I believe as you said it would add more strategy to the competition.Other thoughts?
Also, Jackson hasn't said weather or not he is okay with this. However, Meta voted yes,and Mini liked it.

Okay since Jackson has shown no interest in sponsoring us i.e. forum awards, I'm going to pull the trigger and try to get this under way.I am going to shout every person who voted yes. That way we can discuss rules and teams.Once we have everything agreed upon, I will make another thread with the teams for score tracking etc.
Issues:
Number of people on a team: 3-4?
Which way we do the scoring?(Marathon or mikemsn's way)
Time for competition?3 months?
Name of competition?
Any additional thoughts about rules or other issues please post them.
Sorry for the bump/double post.

Great idea truthfully.
For number of people on a team, you need to know how many people are going to enter first.
I like the Marathon way of Scoring.
Also, I would say randomized teams, due to as you said in the first page, if two people get together for example STD and Mini, it's going to be beyond stacked, and it will be hard for anyone to even come close.

4 man teams, Marathon scoring (there's so much advance notice for this everyone has equal time to get waffles), pick your own teams (I want guys I know I can count on), and again, no newly created accounts.

Agreed. That is what I was thinking as well. The marathon way is simpler, and since this is our first time doing this I say keep it simple.
@Real of course lady's are welcome to join the competition.

I'm ready for this to start also. We need some kind of sign-up so we know how many people want to be involved.
