Conan O'Brien basically told NBC to go fuck themselves when they proposed a change to the late night line-up because once again their 10 o'clock slot is tanking in the ratings. I don't know why their surprised that Jay Leno's new show hasn't done well when they've canceled every drama series they've run in that time-slot the past few years. The people running NBC have their heads up their asses. I say good for Conan. I've been watching his show for years.

I did not expect O'Brien to be the subject of this thread, LOL. I also saw this already. Hilarious, finally someone with balls to stand up to the television exec's!

Leno should have had some class and retired totally.

Conan is one of the few "tv celebrities" I really enjoy and I'll definitely watch whatever his new thing is, wherever he goes. It was actually hard for me to catch him doing Late Show but I thought it was cool he got it at all given how weird his humor can be.

I think they need to reevaluate their target audience... I mean for older people, Letterman wins- over Leno and over Conan. But Conan has the younger (35 and under) audience. So since they CAN'T win the old folks, why not go with what they've got?
The execs at NBC have had their heads up their asses for years. They should've given the Tonight Show to Letterman instead of Leno in the first place.

Really the only part of Leno's show that's worth watching is "headlines." The rest is disposable.
I also wanted Letterman to get the Tonight Show when Carson retired, but he really kind of fucked himself as far as NBC was concerned and that was the difference. Leno is funny, but not in a way that stands out for me.
