Is it just me or is gamefly getting really slow these days?

I rent 3 at a time and the past 5 or 6 shipments have been 6+ days in between me to them and them to me...

They mailed Halo:3 ODST last Saturday and I still haven't receive it. I mailed back Batman: Arkham Asylum and it took over a week for them to receive it. I last played Batman on 2/15/10! Which means I probably mailed it on the 16th so, that's 17 days in between rentals! I still have 2 games at the house so I am not sweating it to bad but if I wasn't on the 3 at time, I would be pissed and probably cancelled by now.

I live in Auburn, AL and my gamefly shipping center is in Tampa, FL. It doesn't take that long to ship. In my business I mail stuff all the time and there is no way it takes that long!

They use to recieve my games 3 days max after I shipped them and I would receive new games 2 to 3 days after they said they said they shipped it. But its been ungodly slow the past month and a half!

Anyone else having the same problems?

Most of us here have said a thing or two about them, the latest was in the thread -

Gamefly Ripoff

http://xboxamerica.com/threads/gamefly-ripoff/page/2/#post-205073

I have had it with them, they could learn a thing or two from netflix!

2 - 3 day turn around. Mail it on Monday, Tuesday account shows movie inbound & new out, Wednesday movie at home, Thursday at latest.

I'm so over them, I wish there was another like company.

Netflix has blockbusters. I wish Gamefly (GameSlow) had a competitor!

It might just be the Tampa shipping center. I haven't had any problem at all with them. When I mail in a game I have the new one within three days. Maybe try a different post office next time you mail a game in. The one you are using might not have the ability to scan in the game adding to the turn around time for a new one.

First couple of monthes of service were great! I couldn't have been happier! I even had 2 $5 off coupons that I bought MLB 2k9 for $3 and MUA2 for $12. So, I don't know whats the deal here lately. I don't even have any new games in my gameq right now b/c I knew it would just take longer for them to ship the new releases so I have been giving the new releases at least a month before I add them in! I don't have Bioshock2, Mass Effect2, etc. in my gameq at all yet! I mean I just added Assassin's Creed2 last week and they are still slow getting my next game out. After they finally showed that they received Batman on Tuesday of last week, they still didn't show that they shipped Halo till Saturday! I keep 50 games in my gameq tons of them say available now or high and it still takes them 4 days before they even put another one in the mail!

It went from great to horrible in no time! I have 3 friends that just signed up last month b/c I told them how awesome it was. One lives in Birmingham, AL and the other 2 live down the street and they aren't having any problems but neither did I at first...

Gamefly has been better to me this time around. I just rejoined for a second time about two months ago. I sent back a game this monday, they received it on tuesday, and I had a new game on wednesday. The even actually shipped me Bioshock 2, which I will play at some point.

I really have no other rental options for the price I pay gamefly. $29.95 per month is awesome. Around here blockbuster, movie gallery and hastings are like $8.99 for 5 days and I always return them late so there's more money. Also, I'm in a college town so new games are still hard to get when they come out.

I hope their service speeds back up for me soon but even if I cancel I have tons of games that I own that I haven't even played yet. So I could go without for a while I guess :)

I usually have a 4 day turn around. I have the 2 games at a time so when one is in transit I am playing the second. It's a pretty good system for me but I wish it was like netflix with a two day turn around.

On a side note when netflix first started it was a 4 or 5 day turn around. Once gamefly gets more centers the turn around time will decrease.

I've been using GF for a little over a year now, and Netflix for over 2 years. I would simply say since video games cost more than movies ($60 as opposed to $20ish) they have less copies. This also means higher monthly fees, less distribution centers, and worse licenses with the USPS.

But to answer your question, yes, lately mine have been a little longer than usual. Use to be 2 days here, 3 days back every time, but now...it's been 3-4 days here, 4 days back. Give it time to grow though, send out some referrals. More customers = happier customers with more games in their hands.
Re: Gamefly?
Yeah seriously i live in Arkansas and i yhought that for sure the distrobution center in Austin would make things really fast but it still takes 4ever 4 me to recieve my games (6-10 days 2 be exact) and top of that they are always trying 2 b.s. u saying that the game has been lost when really they are probably just trying buy time i know this because because my uncle works for The us postal service and he told me that they really dont lose a lot of stuff. So maybe there is something about games that makes them so easy to lose, but its funny cuz they never lose my netflix movies:mad

OK, they reported it lost and sent me another copy a while back but yesterday I finally received the first copy of Prototype! The envelope is ripped to shreds but the sleeve is ok. So how do I mail it back now? My friend told me to just keep it but I hate having the lost status on my rental history and the game reminds me of a mix between spiderman and assassins creed? Not, a bad game but it just felt like a played it before, if you know what a mean...

Can I just throw it in with another game? (mail 2 games in the same envelope?)

I rented MUA2 and then decided to keep it, so I think I might still have the return envelope to it somewhere?

Question
What should I do if I lost a sleeve or mailing envelope?

Answer
If you've lost a disc sleeve, please do the following to make sure you get credit for returning the game:

Write your first name, last name, and e-mail login on a sheet of paper, along with the title of the game you're returning.
Wrap the disc in the paper and slip it into its mailing envelope.
Mail the game back to GameFly as usual. Once we receive the game, we will create a new sleeve and then return the game against your account. Therefore, it will take more time to process your return.
If you've lost the pre-paid mailing envelope, please request one by going to Report A Shipping Problem. Once there, select I lost the game's sleeve or mailer and identify the specific game you need a return envelope for. We will be more than happy to send you another one. If you would like to return the game right away, you can use your own padded envelope and send the game to:

Austin, Texas 78714-9362

No, the return sleeve is fine. The envelope was completely damaged. I have the sleeve but no envelope to return it. Thx!
