F#@*ing DVD-ROM is Out

So I've been rocking my Elite for about 14 months when the DVD-ROM started having trouble reading a little while after MW2 came out. I thought it may be the disc but about half way through December it got really bad and about 2 weeks ago quit reading all together.

I ordered a replacement DVD-ROM not realizing just how much of a pain it is to swap them since I have a Lite-On which requires a USB Key reader and all this other crap. I ordered a replacement laser eye off e-bay which arrived today and will be returning the other DVD-ROM for a refund.

This is the third X-Box I have had, second one that I've had an issue with. If the DVD-ROM doesn't work I'll be picking up an Arcade at Wally-World and then swapping the internals...again...and returning it...

You would think that 3 years later they could get some quality Q&A but I guess that's what you get when a 10 year old is putting it together in Taiwan...

Just wanted to vent that I haven't been online or played in almost 3 weeks :(

Ya might want to have put this in GRINDS MY GEARS, but anywho man I feel ya.
Since you're willing to spend the money AND to the work, I'd say sell off what you have and buy a Jasper-model Elite and transfer your HDD shit. You may have to grab an "Arcade" styled console to get both the smaller CPU and GPU.
