I'm curious though, you need a transfer cable to move data from one to the other correct? Also does it come with it or is it something you have to buy?

Finally getting a X360 Slim

Alright so I've been using my core model since 2006 and love the tits off it but my Brother decided to get the new MW3 slim so I'm most likely gonna be using that whenever I feel like gaming in the living room.
I'm curious though, you need a transfer cable to move data from one to the other correct? Also does it come with it or is it something you have to buy?

Sadly u must buy a transfer cable. It's $20 new. Or at least that how much I paid. I would recommend getting a used one from GameStop then just returning it back to get full refund.

Well, I dunno if Microsoft will do it now.. but back when I bought my Elite and got rid of my original xbox I ran into the same problem, I called Microsoft (Xbox Support) and told them my situation (Bought a new xbox and was wondering how to transfer data) they sent me a transfer cable for free...
Like I said I dunno if it will work but it's worth a shot.

The guys at gamestop actually suggest doing that. My local store was super chill about it and did it happily.

When I got my slim I used a USB drive to transfer the shit that I really needed instead of a transfer cable just to open up some space & clear out the crap that I didn't need. If you want to keep everything that you have the transfer cable is the way to go though.
