There are quite a few games out there with some easy completions. For me its finding the time to get them completed.

I think its just the games you are playing. Try Gears 3 or spend a lot of hours on Skyrim.
There are always a rash of games that are easier. Halo isn't that easy (at least a couple of the achievements), and for me its nice to see that Saints Row 3 isn't an uber grindfest of a game, now I might actually play it. Never played the first two...
I've never found either AC or Halo that hard to complete. So to me the only new one being easy in the series is Saints Row...
Edit: and you don't have all the achievements in AC, they added 4 the other day

I feel like devs are pressured by publishers to make big-budget games easier on purpose, as very difficult games often sell way less units in this latest console generation.

I'll agree with this, but only to an extent. Gears 3 sold like hotcakes and it has probably one of the hardest achievements ever....
I think the publishers are in general trying to make things a little less insane, but still games come out all the time that have s--t achievements that are just a freaking grind, and it all just depends on the publishers...

Those are not obtainable because the DLC has not been release yet.
As for Gears I've beat the campaign and Played the multi player but got bored of it. And I never really liked the elder scrolls games

I don't know how old you are, but back in my day, video games were mostly a sit down in a day and work your fingers to exhaustion event. Games were fiercely difficult and took a lot of finger dexterity to beat, but they were short for the most part.
The way video games are made has shifted and so has what a gamer wants out of their gaming experience. These days, epic stories, complete immersion and cinema like presentation are what gamers crave.
With that comes a need for accessibility. That means thumb numbing difficulty is being traded in for more of an interactive experience that allows the gamer to actually get to the end of the story regardless of their skill. Nobody wants to begin watching a movie only to find out that they are not able to see the ending.
The sense of accomplishment of being able to brag to your friends that you are the only person in your town to beat a game like Battletoads has been replaced by the feeling of reaching the end of a story that you have immersed yourself in for 50 hours. It may not have been overly difficult to finish, but you completed the story that was laid out before you.
Don't get me wrong, there will still be games made to be difficult just for the sake of difficulty, but by and large the most challenge you are likely to find in blockbuster titles is online player vs. player.

Yup, that's Trials HD in a nutshell!

I remember the old games they were short. took about a day to beat three of them (mostly mega man) but even back then there was games with a great storyline but really difficult, (Legend of Dragoon for one example) and That one took me a month to beat

Is there any chance you are getting better at the style games you play? I'm 40, and since i've gotten my 360 and played, I've gotten better at the first person shooter genre (better than I started anyway). You may not consider yourself that good, doesn't mean you aren't improving.
It could also mean you are getting better at finding the situations that unlock achievements.

there's always that chance, I just don't think I've improved that much. I don't just mean the achievements are easy but the games themselves are getting shorter, take assassin's creed 2 it had 14 sequences, Revelations only 9. That's barely even a game. Its seems to me that the game companies are more interested in the multi player aspect of the game rather than the campaign. which is good but they should put some more effort into the single player part of it.

In all fairness though AC2 had two sequences missing which were released later as DLC, and no MP. So offset the differences, its close to what was released in Revelations. I still thoroughly enjoyed AC:R and although I'm unhappy about this character DLC having achievements, I think they put together a very good game.

Holy fuck I forgot about Battletoads. Goddam! I hated that game.

I know the DLC for assassins creed 2 added two more sequences to but I don't think there is going to be any single player DLC for Revelations, the way they ended it shows (to me anyway) a set up for the next Game not a DLC. but I hope I'm wrong.
