EA going to close servers!!!

"February EA Server Shutdowns Announced; 1000 Online Attempt Incoming

EA has announced the servers to be closed this February 2nd, and a few 360 game have been given the axe this time around. If you have any online achievements in these games, you have four weeks to grind them out or lose the chance forever! Here is the list of games with online achievements. (The full list is linked above.)

* Facebreaker
* Madden 07
* Nascar 09 (EU only)
* NBA Live 07
* NCAA March Madness 07
* NHL 07
* UEFA Champions League 2006-2007

Now, before anyone asks: as promised many times, x360a will be holding an NBA Live 07 "1000 Online" achievement event at the end of this month before the servers close. The only successful attempt before now was put together by them back on February 25th, 2007 and we have always said that the best time to get another event done would be just before the servers close. That time is obviously now, and a bigger post will be made when we have nailed down a date and time.

For now be sure to spread the word and be sure to purchase a copy of the game early off eBay or the second-hand market. You don't want to head to the video store the day of and see it completely rented out!"

Man Facebreaker hasn't even been out very long.

Good luck to anyone that needs online 'cheevs for these. If nothing else, this is a prime reason not to have online Achievements in a game.

Facebreaker is easy to do the online achievements in.

I think this is why MS/Xbox should be in charge of the multi-player end of achievements.
If they are going to make multiplayer only achievements and the servers go down, how long will it be before YOUR favorite game gets the axe?
Why does Xbox 360 online achievements have ANYTHING to do with EA having a server up?
That's just not right.
Facebreakers, as I recall hasn't even been out 2 years.

I think this is the most low-down thing any game manufacturer could do not everyone goes out and buys the games right away for whatever reason and when they finally do they cant get 100% on the game because the severs were shutdown and they can't get the multiplayer achievements for it. I did'nt actually buy my 360 till two years ago and bought NBA Live 06 about a year ago then finally put it in to play a a couple months ago and i'm stuck at 960/1000 on it, they make millions of dollars from us every year they shouldnt be worried about losing a little bit of that just because they dont have 1000's of people playing their games everyday
