I'm usually not a person to rant over the internet because, 9/10 you probably don't give a flip about my personal problems. However, I feel this applies to games and I would really like to discuss this. Okay, so obviously DLC* is a trend that is growing fast in the past few weeks: Splinter Cell Conviction, Red Dead Redemption, Bad Company 2, Dead to Right, and Family Game Night. It seemed at one point only extremely popular/good games would get DLC which is something I'm fine with but, now it seems like every other game gets it. So, at this point you're probably asking yourself extra content this is bad why? Well the achievement addition. I mean for me the cost doesn't so much matter however, it is annoying to drop $10 on some half assed missions. Right, back to achievements, I'm not really a completionist but, I like to keep my percentage around 82-85%. With the large number of games getting DLC makes me go back to them and get the DLC in order to get the achievements. Which takes my time away from new titles (Transformers War for Cybertron). My main issue is games the don't need DLC are getting DLC to milk the max profit (I know it's business it's all about the $$). I was satisfied when games like Halo 3 and Gears 2 had 1750 these are legitimately fun/popular titles. Now we see more games for Family Game night which breaks the former cap of 1750 with a solid 1850. This kind of blows the former limits to the amount of DLC allowed/new achievements allowed. That says to me that the sky is the limit which disgust me. I honestly a don't want to invest $100+ into a game ($60 +4 DLC's). This is just my opinion.
