Deathspank returns in The Baconing

DeathSpank returns for an all new adventure in The Baconing as he faces his most dangerous foe yet in the Anti-Spank as he tries to locate the Fires of Bacon. Players will settle in for the fun and familiar Monkey Island meets Diablo experience as the Vanquisher of Evil sets out to meet new acquaintances and some old friends in an all new science fiction post apocalyptic world with lots of exciting surprises, quests, puzzles and enemies.
Yeah. That's right, he's coming back. Hothead games has announced that Deathspank will be returning this summer in a new game entitled Deathspank: The Baconing. While there is no set release date as of yet, we do know that the game will be making its way to the XBLA, PSN Network (if its actually working bwa ha ha ha ha!) and as a download on the PC.
This new iteration of Deathspank promises to have more than 100 quests, 80 new weapons and 70 characters (not all of which will be new). It also is supposed to be a bit more involved than the previous two titles, with the enemies becoming more than just typical hack 'n' slash fodder. Enemies will now try to flank Deathspank and healers will be "smarter" as well.

A new sidekick has also been mentioned (although no official announcement of co-op) named Bob from Marketing. Bob has a few special moves which you might find interesting: Laser eye beams; Eat dead bodies to restore health; Eat live bodies as an additional attack option. So if cannibalism is your thing, Hothead has a guy just for you.
I'm sure we'll be hearing more official announcements over the coming weeks, but in the meantime you'll just have to deal with this teaser trailer. I personally can't wait.
