While I agree with this Evol, I also disagree. Now you say that there are obviously people who you don't consider to be a part of this community voting for Reach, what if though Meg and Maj Rule just showed up on the site and voted for ShadowRun? I can't remember the last time either of them came to the site and posted anything. To me they aren't considered any more part of this community than anyone that has voted for Reach and hasn't posted anything. So really, no matter what game if you pit something hugely popular like Halo against what is basically a game that has a cult following like ShadowRun, the more popular game will win nine times out of ten.
I know Meg and Maj don't really post here. I wasn't really counting them. I was more counting the people who posted in this thread, but I know they would likely show up to play if SR was picked.

I voted for Shadowrun BECAUSE it isn't a Halo game. And BECAUSE it's older, which means everybody on the site should be able to afford it, instead of the $60 new release that not everyone will own. A lot of our members complained last year about MW2 as the chosen game because of budget issues, so why do it to them again? If not Shadowrun, why not another game? Something in the $10-$20 range that wont kill people to buy.
On top of that, look at all the issues we had with MW2, and 20 threads a day about it. An older game will still get threads made about it, but I doubt it would be as much as we will get for Halo Reach.
I'm just saying, it's not much of a COMMUNITY playdate if HALF the community wont be there for it....................
It's like you get me, man... *sniffle*
I don't think the Community Playdate should be about how good or bad the game is. It should be about getting together with fellow XBAers and the Xbox community. I don't think we're going to need a Playdate to find an online game of Halo Reach. I just know that we will have an easier time getting people to pickup SR (I got my copy on Ebay for $7) than getting people to pay $60 for a game they really don't want.
