so if i wanted to play on the TV while it's recording, i'd have to use the AV/RCA cable instead of an HDMI so that i can plug the Easy Cap into the Video Out? because i don't think Video Out will work with an HDMI port?

lol do i make sense?

How much are you looking to spend? The black magic intensity pro has HDMI in/out so you can play and record. Also considering you have the appropriate slot

Or the black magic shuttle has in/out for HDMI as well and it uses USB. But it will run you about $200

I think me and him are looking for something cheaper but still holds decent quality, i dont need professional equipment but something appropriate :] that 5.95 easy cap sounds VERY VERY appealing

but im wondering if im understanding this correctly, with the easy cap i could hook up the cables from my computer to my tv , turn on my xbox and itll work ?

It al depend s on what calbes you want to record with. Do you want VGA, component, composite, etc.

lol nope, i just have my eye on the Easy Cap right now. don't want anything fancy, as long as it gets the job done with a quality that you can see what's going on pretty clearly.

and my question was if i'm able to record from the Video Out output off the tv while i play the 360 that's plugged in using an HDMI cable

Doubtfull, because essentially you would need a down scaler box to convert from HDMI to composite. Those can cost around $200 so i dont think your TV would have that capability built in. Usually the output on your TV is for compsite input to composite output because no scaling is needed.

Which cables would be recommended ? In Your Opinion

Ummm, I wont settle with anything lower than VGA. Besides I dont have a available V to use composite cables on anyway. If you have a TV with component however you can play in Component and record in composite because the Xbox cables have both of them. Just have the component going to you TV and the composite cables going in the Easy cap, that way you can still play in 720p (or what ever component cables support)

Im bumping this thread from last year since I didn't feel like making a new one, been lookin at capture cards lately, but don't really know how they work or which is the best. I use HDMI, but don't wanna spend 200 for an HDMI one so what would be my best bet for decent quality at a low cost? I think my TV has hookups for just about everything but only one of each. The cheap easycap just hooks right into the A/V slot on the TV then my xbox plugs into that and it records then I hook it up to the computer via the USB to edit and share it when I'm done or what?
