I haven't played the campaign in a long time, so I will try to remember how I handled those levels. However I am curious how you were able to shoot the japanese zeros (for the achievements), and also how did you get to the 10th prestige?

Use This it's for Wikigameguides.com, formerly known as Nextgenwalkthrough.com
Remember, Heart of the Reich is one of the levels where enemies will spawn infinitely if you sit and wait in hopes of killing them all. This level took me days, no joke, and I had to repeatedly turn it off to cool down, as I kept getting insanely pissed. You get 1 checkpoint after 2 guns, but no more until the end, iirc.

W@w in my opinion is the hardest CoD campaign on Veteran, and the only one I haven't finished. I would love to help But I'm stuck a few levels before you. I love how there seems to be more nades landing around me than there are enemies. Some times I think its a matter of Luck getting through those levels.
@mcdevlin The key to the Zero's is getting 9 or 10 kills in the first part. If you don't just restart the level until you do. You should have little trouble finishing if you do the first part right. I still go on with a few friends and play MP. Need to give that Campaign another go!!!

AGREED!
This would be one of the easier COD's if it wasn't for the grenade spam that is pure bullshit in this game. I honestly think it was harder than COD 2 due to the nades.

Yeah W@W was a pain in the ass! I gave up on veteran mode when I couldnt get past the one cave level. Every time I played through it and beat the level, it wouldnt progress forward. The guys would just stare out at the ocean from inside the cave. Pissed me off bad...

Yeah definately a tough game, i beat it on my old account. The last levels caused a few broken controllers, but keep trying man. You need to luckout from checkpoint to checkpoint. Avoid grenades and take it slow (not too slow). If you take it too slow, you just waste time an get more mad when you die. Good luck!

I feel ya there Chaos. It definitely took me a few hours to get up to the steps on Heart of the Reich. I would kill a few people, then try and run up to trigger checkpoints. IMHO, the easiest way to beat it is to 'abuse' the checkpoint system by trying to get the game to give checkpoints which will cease some of the infinite spawns.
And when you do, in fact, get to the stairs, don't let the pillar fall on you. I made it all the way through to the end then that happened, it's an awful feeling.
Downfall's not nearly as bad as Heart of the Reich. As soon as the level opens, sprint to the right and pick off the guys over there. Then work your way up the spiral staircases. From there it's pretty much cake up until the very last sequence right before you get the flag. Gotta stay hard to the left at that part, and get a little lucky sprinting ahead for the checkpoints.
There's just not an equivalent feeling to seeing that Vet cheevo pop.
Keep trying and good luck!!

I've tried all that, the more I progress...The more enemies come from the building to the right and from the stairs down at the center.
If I'm recalling it right, you can clean out the building to the right or run around the backside of it and they stop spawning.

I'm in desperate need of some help:
I'm two achievements away from completing Call Of Duty: World at War on veteran mode and I'm stuck...
1.) For the Motherland
Complete 'Heart of the Reich' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)
2.) Bearing the Burden
Complete 'Downfall' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)
These two achievements are whats standing in my way from completing my 3rd Call of Duty game on veteran mode...I've tried looking at walkthroughs from wikigameguides and tried doing what they do, but to no avail. The level that I'm stuck at is after you take out the first two guns with a grenade launcher...I can't cross after that as I'm constantly getting pinned down and even killed trying to make any type of progress on the game...I need some serious help with getting across to where the other two guns are, so I can complete this mission and move forward without having to change levels, which I've already done.Help is appreciated

It's real easy to do, check it out.
First I limp to the sounds like my legs is broken,
shakin' and twitchin' kinda like I was smokin', crazy whack funky.
People say you look like MC Hammer on crack Humpty.
That's aight 'cause my body's in motion.
It's supposed to look like a fit or a commotion.
Anyone can play this game.
It's my dance y'all, Humpty Hump's my name.
No two people will do it the same, ya got it down, when you appear to be in pain.
Humpin' funkin' jumpin' gig around shakin' your rump
and when a dude or chump ups and points a finger like a stump, you tell him to step off I'm doin' the hump.
