There should have been a radio transmission received through your pip-boy requesting assistance. Check your list of radio stations. It should be listed as "outcast transmission" or something of that nature.

The radio station is in the north central part of the map. If you go to quests and have Broken Steel installed you should be able to make it the "active quest" and have a map marker straight to it.
Just as a tip make sure that when you collect the Steel Ingots that you only turn them in 10 at a time, or just get all 100 before you turn any in. I turned in 12 the first time and had to re-do the DLC to get that achievement
Oh and I didn't have to beat Fallout 3 to get it active. I could have done it right after I left the vault.

Broken Steel is alright, but Point Lookout is where its at. Hope to see something in that nature for New Vegas.

Obsidian confirmed that they will never do a continuation DLC, like Broken Steel. But that doesnt rule out a free roam type DLC, but I'm just wondering how it'll play out in the grand scheme of things. If you pay attention to Dead Money its a precursor to whats to come, it foreshadows a confrontation with another Courier. Check out the Fallout New Vegas wiki, its really interesting.

To me Fallout New Vegas in general has been a bit of a let down... maybe thats because of all the bugs that had problems i just feel like they rushed the game instead of fixing it for release ... either that or they have the "Greatest" QA team ive ever seen lol
