So far, so good!
I don't know about best game ever though. Have you played the first one yet?
The problem that I see with this in the fact of it being a sequel, (a sequel to one of the most highly regarded games for 360, and for the next generation) is that the first time you are dropped in Rapture, it is such a jaw dropping backdrop and awesome environment that it is truly unforgettable. The second time just doesn't have that "OMJesus!!" oomph that the first time you lay eyes on Rapture unleashes!
I'm not saying that is B2's fault, but every review score has been dropped a notch or two just because it's "not the first game." As a stand alone, this game would be a 9.5. As the sequel to Bioshock, it's an 8.5. It may not be fair, but it makes sense.
The story elements are not as strong in this one as the last one. That leaves the WOW factor of Rapture to make up the difference, but like I said before, Rapture is Rapture and we've been here before.
I have yet to play multiplayer, so I can't really say whether it adds to the experience yet! ( I never do MP before I beat the SP campaign in ANY game!) Also, there are improvements like the hacking minigame, but all in all it's not groundbreakingly different. I'm not saying that's a bad thing since the first game is one of my top 5 of all time! I just don't think I could call this one the greatest of all time!

i'd agree with the comment about this one not having the same "wow" factor because we've been here, but it really is awesome. i started the main story on day one, and then jumped into the MP and got hooked.
i was one of the people who religiously said "no MP in bioshock!" but i'm eating my words now. aside from the occasional freeze it's amazing. i'm now at rank 10 and taking a break so i can wrap up more of the story, and so far the story is just getting better and better.
i love me some B2.

I beat it about an hour ago, and I must say I'm very disappointed. This isn't saying it was bad; I'm saying I don't think I got my moneys worth for it. The story was much shorter than Bioshock 1, which also had a much better story. This games story didn't really hook me until the end until (spoiler):
The story really didn't hook me until then... While the first Bioshock's story was great from the beginning. Also, multiplayer really isn't good at all. It's fun, but it's full of lag and it takes me ten minutes to find a game.
If the game was worth $40, I would think I would have gotten my money's worth. I give it a 7/10...Definitely not one of the best games ever IMO.

You find Eleanor and Sophia tries to kill her, making me go into a coma.

I think I made the wrong choice. I got both Bioshock 2 and Dante's Inferno on the same day from Gamefly. I decided to start DI first. I should have went with Bioshock 2. Oh well, I guess I wanted to get Dante's Inferno out the way so I can devote a large amount to the multiplayer.
haha i think you did the right thing by playing Dante's Inferno first since you can finish that in 6-7 hours apparently and if you started with Bioshock 2 first, you might be dissapointed when you finally switch over to Dante's Inferno at the big gap between quality <_<

I love every aspect of this game. I agree with the fact that it isn't as good as the first, due to the absence of the "wow factor," but I actually think the story is better done. Bioshock 1 had a better story, but Bio 2 was better written and executed, if that makes sense.
This game, IMO, was significantly harder though. Maybe I just don't remember the first one very well, but in Bio 2 is was consistently dropping down to 1 or none health packs and having to scour around for more.
Multiplayer is great I think. I guess I'm just lucky, but I haven't had any freezing, lag, or finding a game problems. It's all been smooth sailing for me.
All in all I'd give this a 9.5/10. I think it falls just short of its predecessor but does stand out in many ways as an amazing game and a sequel to be remembered.
Haha just wrote a mini review right there

Let's try not to make a new thread every other day for this like we have for MW2.

With that said, I love this game but I agree with Evol. I've yet to play a sequel that was exponentially better than it's predecessor. I've been playing a bit of the story mode then a few online matches each night. I'm just curious to see if there's different endings for harvesting/saving every little sister like the first game.
I decided to do what I did with the first and harvest every one in my first run-thru and then save em all next time. I'm gonna have to run through it at least three times. I went with medium my first time. Then I'll do hard and then easy to get the chievo for not using vita-chambers.

Yeah, Bioshock is good. Multiplayer sounds like fun.

I was kind of surprised by this too. I would think you would die slower than you would in the first one, seeing as your a Big Daddy, but it seems like you have less health than in the first one. Only being able to carry 5 health packs compared to nine in the first one doesn't help very much either.

i think both stories are about equal at this point.
and i agree that this game is harder. i'm running through it on hard my first time and holy hell... more supplies please? lol. it's a great challenge though.

see, i've been saving them and doing that on hard might be a bad idea, lol. i'm literally getting only half the ADAM you are. oh well though, when i run through it on easy i guess it'll just make it that much more enjoyable.
and call me crazy, but why would anyone WANT to use the vita chambers?
