best single player game.

for all that do not want to read everything I wrote I am just asking what some good single player games are for the xbox 360. and how bad(not bad as in un-fun, bad as in M rating) is GTA?

Ok you probably all already know I moved onto a street that seams to be in some sort of black hole and I can not get high-speed internet to my house. The streets all around me can, but ares does not. I have asked the house behind us if I can use his wireless internet to check email and stuff and he said go for it, so I have had good internet connection just no XBL.

Any way I have taken about a 8 month brake from even touching my xbox and have been playing allot of Wii and DS with my family which is really cool because I get to hang out with all them more(there are 9 in are family). But I have found myself ready to get back into real gaming again.

so I need suggestions for the best single player xbox game out there it does not have to have multiplayer just top notch single player, and I would also like it to have 30+ hours of play time or a lot of re-playability. So can you awesome guys and girls give me a list of good single player games and why they are good.
Last how bad is bad with GTA, like is that a game I can play around my little brothers and sisters? They do not mind violence, but I am not sure how bad the rest of the game is.

EDIT: and how in the world does it have my GT saying I have played Fear and Guitar hero? I could almost swear I have not played them since i have not had xbox live?

even though i've yet to play it (i plan on it in the future) alot of people were raving about mass effect. i know there is alot of replay value to the game because you can go through it with different character classes and change the way things will unfold. i just found flatout ultimate carnage at best buy last week clearanced for 14 bucks and i'm having a blast with this game -racing, destruction, stunts,ragdolling, demolition derby, etc. :cool:

umm bioshock is good, mass effect
and gta is good for you to play but dont let the little ones on it they may stumble into a bad spot for little eyes

Mass Effect should be right up your alley. It has the length and depth of a traditional JRPG but with modernized half-action-oriented shooting combat. The game is decently long a single time through but with all the choices in dialog, story options and how different combat can be with different classes, you will want to play through it at least twice, probably more, so in the end it provides lots of playtime. The graphics, sound and overall atmosphere have this nice style to them that suits the game well, but there can be some huge slowdown during firefights later in the game.

Lost Odyssey also has gobs of playtime, grab it if you like Japanese-style RPGs like the Final Fantasy games. I would say replay value is lower than ME but LO is actually much longer and deeper the first time through anyway. The combat is fun with a small timing-based boost that will keep you from spacing out and mindlessly hitting the A button. Graphics and story are both nice, characters are pretty interesting. The more verbose parts are basically an optional side deal so you don't have to sit through pages of text/story if you don't want to.

I would almost say don't get GTA IV until you have a good connection for multiplayer, unless you just never spent much time with GTA3, Vice City or San Andreas.

Grand Theft Auto isn't that amoral. If you're playing it around younger siblings you should be aware of the occasional strip club and plenty of profanity. There's plenty of drugs involved in the different missions you do, and the whole game is about crime but I think GTA ge's too harsh of a reputation.

I guess whether it's right for you depends on how much your siblings will be able to see, watch or play. I would at least settle for buying it, and shooing them away whenever you play because it's a phenomenal game and definitely worth it.

O I like the ideas of RPG, but I did not like Oblivion so I do not know. I think I might look into lost odyssey I have never tried a jrpg

Good singleplayer eh? Here's a list: The orange box, Crackdown, Ace Combat 6 (it has like 5 difficulties too), Burnout: Paradise or Burnout Revenge (which has 2 player split-screen), Assassin's creed has good single player but not the best replay value, Amped 3 (if you're into snowboarding) is amazing pretty good replay(ability), and finally I have heard Gears of War has some pretty amazing single-player (I'll play it in a few days and I'll get back to you.)

Crusty's right man, for single player gameplay goodness you definitely cannot go wrong buying the Orange Box. Hours and hours of fun, action, story, neat sh*t, vehicles, and then there's Portal!!

oooo Crack down I forgot about that one, I might just have to pick that one up as a second game if its cheep, and thanks for all the other suggestions people. I will check into bully also, It never crossed my mind that is is some what like GTA.

VEHICLES.. Antlion beach!!!!! (one of the most classic levels in a vehicle.)
