If your talking TV series, I'd recommend putting Battlestar Galactica at the top of your list. The complete new series is available to stream. My brother got me hooked on it before the 4th and final season a couple years ago. I was hesitant af first but I watched the two part mini-series that kicks everything off and was addicted.
