Best Buy slashes prices on old Xbox 360 special edition bundles

The new Xbox 360 is much quieter and more efficient, but there are still reasons to buy the old model. Like the fact that Best Buy is kicking off August by lowering the prices for the Splinter Cell: Conviction and Final Fantasy XIII previous-gen Xbox 360
bundles.

For only $299 (That’s $50 off the current price) you get the game title, a 250GB HDD, and two wireless controllers. You better hurry. Not sure how long it will last.

So there’s a good reason to buy the old console and get your summer gaming on.

Yeah I agree, I have a 60gb old system and a grip games that I am trying to get rid of for 150-200$ so I can grab the new system. Hope its worth it!

I have the slim model. It was so worth it. My xbox took a crap just in time for it's release. Got the last one at gamestop. Good timing on my part. Just for the pure quietness it provides is totally worth it. I also love the buttons on it. It's like the PS3, where you don't have to push it, just put a finger on it.

See...here's a toss-up. The slim Eks Bocks is dead sexy looking, has a ton of cool new features, and costs $299. The SE FFXIII has two controllers, it's the old setup so if you have the old memcards, they're still useful (even though, odds are, you really wouldn't be using them), and comes with FFXIII.

I'd still go for the Slim.
