Great info, but I too shall pass on this. I don't like being interrupted while playing. I don't even like the announcements when friends come on-line, but I tolerate it.
If MS wants to improve something, how about speeding up the dashboard log on process.

you can always turn off notifications, but that comes at the cost of not seeing your achievements!!!
