Wireless Networking Adapter? (Yes or No)

Is the 360 Wireless Networking Adapter really worth it? How sturdy is the connection? Would you rate it? Still prefer a cable over wireless?

I have debated getting this but I've had such crappy luck with wireless cards. Being a gamer you obviously want the best connection you can possibly have but convenience of having no cords is nice as well.

For my Xbox, I fed a custom 90ft data cable (through walls and ceiling) from my router in my office to another room in my house. But now I'd like to have another Xbox in my home. Feeding another cord through the ceiling (in the specific area it will be) is going to be a pain in the asssss.

Will I be good with wireless or should I just suck it up and install another cord?

I appreciate honesty!
Thanks.

Same here, never liked the wireless crads for PC, but the XBOX adapter never fails.

I'd go with another cord. It may be clunky and whatnot, but from my experience, any lag is bad lag. Even with broadband you inherit the problems with everyone else's connection. There's no reason to handicap your own connection in my opinion and wireless just doesn't hold up to a hard connection.

*EDIT*

Disclaimer: I have never used an Xbox wireless connector of any kind, so any opinion I have is speculation and not referenced by any personal trial.

Same thing for me, wireless for a while, then it sucked, now wired I've had no problems. Wired connection for the BEST possible connection at all times.

I have one xbox hard wired in and one via wireless. I notice no difference between the two, and for me it was worth it.

My disclaimer is the fact that my internet provider sucks and I have a much slower connection than I should, and it lately here has been cutting out almost consistently, which is really irritating.

Judging from the positive responses I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it. I've always been a firm believer in a strong, sturdy (that's what she said) corded connection, since the beginning of my PC gaming days -but- I suppose I am open to trying new things. What a relief. Can't say I was looking forward to climbing around in a hot attic again. Well, I'm still not. Hopefully all goes well. I'll leave an update on my wireless experience soon.

Thanks a lot guys.
Oh, and thanks for the heads up at Wally World.

By the way, Golden138 and AJ, about how long before your connection went to crap using wireless? Curious.

Yes, ISP does matter! Mine is pretty good, thankfully.

God, I hope I don't have to deal with that.

I remember trying the NETGEAR WG511T Super-G wireless card for my desktop and it was so bad. Choppy lag with every online game I tried. I will admit it was kinda funny seeing people slide across the screen. After a couple days I returned it and never went back to wireless. Guess I've just held a grudge ever since. Shame on me. The only wireless I use is with my laptop but I only play SP on it ... so that doesn't count.

(I was using wireless across my house so there may have been some type of interference with my connection, but still.)
