I bought the Intercooler over the weekend ... I'm not sure why exactly ... a co-worker told me it might help. And it has ... the noise isn't as profound as it was before. Also, I might be able to hear it as well now with the constant sound of the fan.

I own an Intercooler fan. I also own a 350 upright stand with fans also. They help depending on the humidity of weather in your area. I bought them as a kind of "insurance" or help against the bad ju-ju that is the dreaded red ring of which I wont speak.
Seriously though... I think the Intercooler fan system helps and is a good investment. It's loud, but it works. Keep an ear on startup though as the Intercoolers fans tend to loose their bearings and make bad ass noises at start-up.
