#5 - Infinite Undiscovery
Square Enix is at it again in the RPG universe, releasing the first of three major RPG titles in the coming months. Of the three that are on the way, this is the one that intrigues me the most. I had a chance to play it at E3 and, while I wasn\'t allowed to take pictures of it, most everyone has seen the trailers and pictures of the game. With a revamped battle system that has shades for Final Fantasy XII minus the gambit system, it will certainly be worth the attention that it receives.
#4 - Tom Clancy\'s Endwar
The latest in the TC series brings us back to the days of RTS games that require a ridiculous amount of time and strategy. If you don\'t know anything about this game, let me give you a basic rundown:
- United States, Europe, and Russia are the three primary federations.
- United States and Europe team up to build a missile defense system that is perfect against nuclear defense. Russia gets left out in the cold.
- At some point in the time line, oil reserves begin to run out, which causes gas prices to skyrocket. Russia, being number one in oil production, spends billions of oil dollars on building up their military.
- United States pisses off the world by creating a space station that is capable of dropping brigades of marines to anywhere in the world within 90 minutes. Needless to say, tensions are high.
- Space Station is the target of a terrorist attack, which the United States eventually blames on one of the two federations. These events spiral into World War III. Hello, Endwar.
The real amazing part of this game is that it can be completely done by voice recognition, meaning that you don\'t have much to do with the controller. A simple voice command and you can direct your armies wherever you want them to go. It will be very interesting to see how the technology goes.
#3 - Tom Clancy\'s HAWX
I don\'t have much to say about this, other than I\'m looking forward to another Flight Sim after playing Ace Combat Six to absolute death. The graphics are extremely clean, the system to fight as well as dodge missiles is revamped and has an interesting twist on it, and the layouts are very well done.
#2 - Rock Band 2
Nothing truly groundbreaking with this, other than it just builds upon the incredible success of the first version of the game. With plenty of new songs added to the list as well as modes of the game that have been changed up to improve your experience, as well as the ability to carry over your old favorites from the original game (for a small fee, of course), gamers should get a huge bang for their buck.
#1 - Fallout 3
Simply put, this game was one of my top three choices at E3. With the other two titles somewhat of a mystery as to when they are coming out, I\'ll put this at the top of my list for the next eight weeks. Taking the FPS genre to another level, you can upgrade literally just about everything in this game, as well as sell everything. Graphics are absolutely amazing with what was presented to me and the controls don\'t overwhelm you by any stretch of the imagination.
Fallout 3 should be a solid title, and will garner most of the attention in the pre-Holiday rush.
So, I pose this question to all of you: What are your hot choices for the upcoming couple of months?
