TWISTED PIXEL CTO INITIATES SPLODEJEMENT DAY
Title Update and Leaderboard Wipe Coming to Splosion Man
AUSTIN, TX – August 31, 2009 – Frank Wilson, CTO of Twisted Pixel Games, learned today of an exploit that enabled cheaters to post impossibly good scores in his latest Xbox LIVE® Arcade game Splosion Man. With cold precision, he initiated a response: Splodejement Day.
So for those of you who didn't know, next week (Sept 6th - Sept 12th) there is a competition running for the fastest time on level 3-8. The winner will receive a unique 'Splosion Man statue and a poster autographed by the developers. So what does a contest mean? Cheaters...... As of 5AM EST on Sept 1st there is a patch released for the game that will fix an exploit that allowed people to achieve times that were literally impossible to achieve. Twisted Pixel will also remove certain times on the leaderboard as well.
Unfortunately this update does not include the update for the avatar rewards. Twisted Pixel stated they are still waiting for the go ahead from MS to release the rewards.
