It soon became a weekly thread that required a fair amount of upkeep and score tabulating on my part, when I couldn't take the reigns certain weeks LowLifesPiDeR would take over and in later weeks JuniorMT would.
One of the things Gibson/Boobie/Jackson/Chiddy has done with the new site is automated competitions, where it won't require one member to spend so much time tracking scores and everyone can just play. Does the automated system have flaws when compared to the former system? Yes and No. Reasons can be made to argue for either side.
The one thing I do miss about the old way of doing things is, with the FGC system of doing things participants had to sign up. You had to post in the thread saying that you were going to compete, this kept the Carebears and people who never post out of the competitions. I don't agree with automatically signing up every registered member on the site every week for each competition but without having extra work on Chiddy's (or someones) part I can't for the life of me think of a fair way to automate it.
Just a few thoughts.
