XbO Summer '06 Halo 2 Tourney Rules

Players must "Virtually" sign in at the XbO Tournament Chat room by 1:50 p.m. on 9/3. This will allow the Tournament Head (Me) to verify everyone is present and adjust the matches if needed. (Please pre-register for chat between now and tournament time in the XbO Chat system to speed things up)

Match Captains
Match Captains will be completely responsible for the match they are assigned to, including creating, hosting, inviting their match players and launching the match. (Once the match starts, they are fair game like everyone else :D) A new Match Captain will be appointed after each subsequent round. Please visit the XbO Tournament Page to find your seeding and Match Captain. (It is advisable for the Match Captains to add all tourney players to their friends list)

Scoring
Scoring will be simple. Each Kill results in 2 points, each Death results in the loss of 1 point. Scores will be pulled from Bungie.net after every round.

Advancing
The Top point person (and anyone tied for the top point total) in each match will automatically move on. The remainder of the slots will be filled by the next highest point totals from all matches until the next round is full. The amount of available slots per round will be determined by total participants and finalized the morning of the tournament. Tie breakers will be used.

Each subsequent round will have the same amount of players per match as the previous round. (I.E. A 15 player tourney will have 3 matches of 5 players in Round 1, so each subsequent round will have 5 players per match)

Tie Breaker Progression
1. Total Cumulative Points in Tournament
2. Total Cumulative Kills
3. Least amount of cumulative Deaths

After each round
All players are requested to meet back in the XbO Tournament Chat room to wait for the informational announcement for the next round. This will include who advanced, the new Match Captain and next scenario. General chat and trash talking is encouraged.

Winning
The Winner will be determined by the player that scores the most points in the Finals. Previous round totals will not factor in unless a tie-breaker needs to be used. The winner will receive (by Mail or in-person delivery in Central Ohio) a Limited Edition Chrome Faceplate and a Halo 2 Tournament Reward Icon. Second place will receive via electronic media* (E-mail or Chat), the code for a 1-month subscription to Xbox Live.

*Code can be delivered via Xbox Live chat if not comfortable with Chat or e-mail

Final Thoughts
-Please be courteous to your fellow XbO mates in the Tourney matches!

-Tournament Head can make adjustments to the tourney as necessary

-All disputes and decisions will be handled by the Tournament Head

-Please be ON TIME for sign-in and be online before the scheduled start of your matches. Match Captains will send out game invites to everyone at least 5 minutes before scheduled start time launch. We will do our best to accommodate anyone that is late, but there will be a point where the matches will begin with or without you.

-If someone loses connection or get dropped......We will need input from more experienced players on how to handle this. Place your questions/opinions in the Halo 2 Tourney Q&A Thread.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
