Romantics Sue Activision over Guitar Hero Song

The Romantics have filed suit against Activision for making a version of their song "What I like about You" too good. According to a report in the Detroit Free Press, the song that appears on Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's was legally recorded as a cover version per permission received, but the song sounds too much like The Romantics. Also included in the suit is Wavegroup Sound, which recorded the version in the game. While this isn't Xbox 360 specific, the decision could impact the Music Genre game significantly in the future.

That is the point of a cover song. To sound LIKE the band they are covering. Whoever the Romantics are.... they are lame. A very lame band who will lose in court.

Pretty sure that has something to do with the reason they sued them, so someone WILL notice them now...aside from the few that actually care they sued them.
