Rock Band drums

I read somewhere that the 'pedal' for the Rock Band drum set uses a standard 3.5mm plug, does this mean I could just grab a kick trigger for a real electronic set should my Rock Band pedal crap out or break in half like so many seem to?

Unrelatedly, could someone with some drumming experience tell me what commonly-available drum sticks are lighter than the 5A's or 5B's? I am not worried about myself, but I know a bunch of people are going to want to play my Rock Band drums and I don't want them hitting the hell out of the pads with heavy sticks. People that are new to drumming seem to always want to strike really hard, plus people that are new to rhythm games panic and overcompensate for lack of skill with an increase in power

seriously, someone with Rock Band just tell me if the drum pedal is a regular small headphone jack or the big, 3.5mm one

I don't know about th whole electric kick pedal and all, but yeah, I don't let anyone touch my drums unless they've played drums before/have Rock Band... My pedal felt a bit stiff when I first used it, but it's starting to be broken in, and it's a bit loose-ish, like it'll snap if I use the pedal one more time...but no snapping in half on this end...yet >_>

I just need to know mainly if the little plugin for the kick pedal is the standard 3.5mm, which is the "big" headphone plugs, or like a regular electronic instrument cable

i finally got Rock Band btw, just the game because i like my GH3 guitar, and boy is it fun!
the character creator is nifty and I have seen some wild avatars while playing on Live

About the light drumstick issue, I'd recommend a 7A for a much lighter one. I used to get 'em when I was a weak 9 year old, and they worked great.

7A are awesome.. They're fun for going fast on you're drums, the heavy ones are (you guessed it) more bulky but slooower.

Eh, apologies for the late reply, and yeah, it's still in one piece, but I'm a bit overprotective of it when I have people come and play drums with me. xP

And in response to one of your later posts, I've got a pretty crazy themed character, he looks like he's from the 80's or something...guitarist, then my drummer is trenched out and combat boots, and the one cap with the goggles on top and the straps going down... can't remember what it's called though, haven't played in like ages due to the fact that my 360's DVD drive died on th 6th of January, and I still haven't been able to get it sent in. =x
