Resident Evil 5 Versus Mode Now Available

To let you all know, the Versus mode DLC for Resident Evil 5 is now available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The pack will run you 400 Microsoft points (lets not get into that debate again) and cost you a measly 1.86MBs of hard drive space.

Versus allows up to four players to match wits in online battles across two very different game types. Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis. In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other! Players can begin the hunt as Chris, Sheva or other secret characters, and choose from either one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches for either of the two gameplay styles.

The pack adds those to competitive online game modes to the game, as well as 200 points in additional achievements, which are as follows:

Army of One
Win 30 matches in Slayers.

Eye of the Tiger
Win 30 matches in Survivors.

The Team That Slays Together...
Win 30 matches in Team Slayers.

We Will Survive
Win 30 matches in Team Survivors.

Keep the Good Times Rolling
Chain a 20-defeated combo in Slayers.

It Takes Two to Tango
Chain a 40-defeated combo in Team Slayers.

It's All About the Points
Score at least 40,000 points in Survivors.

There's no "I" in Team
Score at least 80,000 points in Team Survivors.

Let's Get This Party Started!
Unlock all selectable characters in Versus.

Bringing the Pain
Defeat 100 players using physical attacks in Versus.

Considering that most things like this cost 800MPs and a nice middle finger from Microsoft, I found this to be an absolute steal. Already downloaded, but I'll probably wait to hop on it tonight. It's gonna take a lot of bonus points to unlock all the characters

is the resident evil pack fixed now cuz i know earlier this morning there were problems with people downloading it and just after the MS points were deducted they got an error message

Yeah, I saw that too this morning. I didn't have a problem downloading it, and it works just fine for me.

Anyone know how to unlock all of the characters in versus mode?

I'm assuming its similiar to how characters were unlocked in mecenaries mode, but not sure.

Sucks all the characters I unlocked in mercenaries mode I can't use in versus mode.

i wanna get this mode, but i gotta get some mpoints first....theres soooo many things i want for dlc and stuff...but idk how to get em Dx lets see...lemme total up how many points imma need for all the dlc and stuff i want

Combustible Map Packs (gow2) 800 mPoints. 10$
Snowblind Map Packs (gow2) 800 mPoints. 10$
The Pitt (fallout 3) 800 mPoints. 10$
Broken Steel (fallout 3) 800 mPoints. 10$
The Dshwasher (xbla) 800 mPOints. 10$
Versus Mode (re5) 400 mPoints. 6$

Total = 4400 mPoints. 56$. i can get 4k of the mPoints at gamestop maybe, but the 400 idk..

this mode sounds awesome tho. if i think about it, i may get it instead of the dishwasher game (which would mean if i get the 4k points card i can get all the dlc i want) so...bleh...gotta find a way to make 50$...cause this mode sounds awesome. plus, im really close to my 1k from the original, and i wanna have 100% in this game..professional is so hard x_x

While not that it matters much, there have been rumors abound that Capcom was...well, full of shit, for lack of a better phrase, and that the reason the download is such a small amount is because the content is already on the disc. Various game sites have asked Capcom for clarification and a reason, as they had originally stated the Versus mode was "beyond the original scope of Resident Evil 5".

I just can't stand the way Capcom thinks its cool to charge for content on a game you just paid 60 dollars for. That, and I'm still a little pissed at Resident Evil at the moment :growl:

The new modes are amazing.

I would of paid 800 and still been happy.

taco, taco, taco. if 800 ms points = $10.00 then half of those same ms points = half of that same money.....ie., 400 ms points = $5.00. :confused:
