What do you think a gamers wildest dream is? Well, if youre like me, its to somehow be included in the development of the next hit title coming out. Whether it would entail testing the game, designing levels, or actually being a character, any of the above would be a dream come true. But theres one problem, I have no programming talent, Im an ok artist, and my mom is the only one that thinks Im handsome. So I think Im out in the cold when it comes to most aspects of the development process. Sure Ive been involved in some beta testing for CoD4, Battlefield: Bad Company, and a few other titles, but thats the closest Ive ever come to being part of a game in its rawest form. But there is some glimmer of hope, and some way for everyone else out there to get their foot in some developers door, in the form of a contest.
Red Faction: Guerilla publisher, THQ, is running a contest in-between today and September 26, which will allow us peons to submit an idea for an Achievement/Trophy that they will put in the game. The company will hold a vote after the deadline and pick four runners-up who will receive a Volition T-shirt and a Red Faction poster, while one lucky grand prize winner will walk away with a T-shirt, poster, and a collectors edition of the game. This is a pretty sweet contest if you ask me. How many times can you say, hey did you get that so-and-so Achievement in Red Faction and when they say YES you reply, yeah I made that one. How sweet would that be?
