Kill the Irishman - 4.5/5
I've been waiting to see this movie ever since I learned it was in production and I read the book it was based on last year. Ray Stevenson stars as real life gangster Danny Greene and it chronicles his career in organized crime in Cleveland during the mid 70's. It features a stellar supporting cast with the likes of Christopher Walken, Vincent D'Onofrio, Val Kilmer, Vinnie Jones, Steve Schirripa and Paul Sorvino.
The fact that it's based on real events makes it that much better. In 1976, 37 mob related bombs were detonated in Cuyahoga County, 21 in Cleveland. Most of those were a result of the conflict Greene had with the Cosa Nostra. They tried and failed to kill him 8 times before they were finally able to finish the job. I'm just flabbergasted by the lack of PR this movie has got and that they only opened it in a select number of cities around St Paddy's Day. This is a new favorite for me and it ranks right up there with The Departed and Goodfellas in my book. It only lost half a point from me because they had to film it in Detroit for tax credit reasons.
I guess modern day Detroit did a pretty good job of passing for 1970's Cleveland.
Here's a link for a trailer if you're interested.

Sucker Punch - 5/5
I absolutely loved this movie. The soundtrack was awesome. The girls looked hot. The action was kick-ass. And the story was pretty interesting.

The Experiment- 3/5
Eh, decent movie. Was slow on occasion, which annoyed me. Not a bad movie though, Adrien Brody is actually good in it.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - 5/5 (Full Price)
Very interesting movie. I've been meaning to watch this, even though I had no idea what it was about until I actually watched the movie. It reminded me a bit of Memento, except a love story. I love how the movie was put together, with the non-linear timeline, and how they showed Jim Carrey's life through all his memories while they were being
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoiler was a very cool idea that I liked a lot. Speaking of Jim Carrey, I was extremely surprised at how good he was in a serious role. The part that really stood out to me was the ending however, where it was kind of a happy ending, but if you really think about it more, it might not be (I don't want to say anymore in case of spoiling something).

It's a good comedy movie as he poses as a cop to retrieve a diamond he stole.
and the building it happens to be in is a Police Station. lol
id say 3.5 stars out of 5

I loved Dave Chappelle in that one-
"Put your hands on the pavement!"
"There is no pavement!"
"Then put 'em on the Oodles of Noodles!"
"Chicken or Beef!"

The Fighter 9.75/10
I am going to stop giving 10/10 but this is really close. I think it is hard for movies to live up to the hype but this one did beyond my expectations. Great movie even though its less about boxing then I thought it would be. Hard to see Batman(Christian Bale) as a crackhead though. My wife didn't even reconize him and she has the hots for him. Check this movie out foSHO.

The Road, 4/5
Awesome movie. Its about (from wikipedia): "a father and his young son struggle to survive after an unspecified cataclysm has destroyed civilization, killed almost all plant and animal life, and obscured the sun; only remnants of humankind remain alive, reduced to scavenging or cannibalism. The man and boy travel southward, in the hope that it will be warmer. Along the way, they search for shelter, food, and fuel, and avoid bands of cannibals while trying to maintain their own sense of humanity.
