Hey shock, I love reading.. This actually looks worth it, good find. Of course you could just go to a local used bookstore and get cheap books too. Which reminds me! I need to go bike down and get some . (If you do get this deal, tell me how it is.)

Most of em are just like the old Columbia House CD club scams. You'll most likely have to buy a set number of books and they'll send ya the book of the month every month and most of em will be shit. I do a lot of reading but never have joined any kind of book club. My brother did though and ended up having to cancel it.

I am a member of the Science Fiction Book Club which is a very similar deal to the above listed ones.
As long as you stay on top of your invoices & any other mailings from the book club, you'll be fine. You'll have to buy a few at regular price after getting all the sweet discounts but as long as you don't do anything stupid like accept a bunch of auto shipments or buy hardbound collections of something you wouldn't otherwise even read, you will end up saving a good bit of money.
Just make sure to read & stay on top of any piece of mail, electronic or otherwise, that they send you. You may have to refuse some auto-shipments of stuff you don't want, or similar. Get the nice discounts at the beginning, then buy whatever you have to to fulfill your contract ASAP, and then cancel it if you don't like their prices or selection, or just don't see yourself wanting more books from them in the future.
