Today, I purchased a brand new 4000 Points card from work (Best Buy) in hopes of downloading some Ikaruga to give me a little break on Lost Odyssey.
Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed to find that my card is missing some numbers after I rubbed off the code cover.
Now, I have no idea what country they outsource their calls to....at least, I hope they do, because if this guy was American, I fear for our country's future.
Highlights of the call:
1) Blaming me for the numbers being gone.
I told him that I used a quarter and, I don't care how hard I scratch it, a quarter is not going to rip through that material without some work. I barely scratched, yet it's somehow my fault.
2) Calling me "Mr. Sean"
Alright, look here buddy....when you ask someone if they can use your first name when talking to you, you can drop the "Mister" part. It makes you sound like a seven year old asking your elementary school teacher for permission to go to the bathroom.
3) "Assuring" me that Microsoft had nothing to do with.
Been there, done that, have multiple t-shirts. Next.
4) Asking for my employment information
He was literally making sure that I had a supervisor, a manager, and all sorts of other people. I finally asked him why this was relevant, and he immediately changed topics. I stopped him and asked him again, and he went into some little speech about how I need to go to my immediate manager. Really? You think? Thank you, Captain Obvious.
So, in the end, I'm sitting here with a 4000 points card that I can't use because someone was too lazy to put a couple of letters/numbers on it to complete the code. Now, I have to try and return this thing, opened and scratched off. Somehow, I don't think this is going to fly.
