Pre-Ordering Games

After a few unpleasant experiences with buy.com on pre-orders, I have not pre-ordered a game in many months. So a few weeks ago I'm playing the Battlefield demo and get all excited about the game and pre-order it through AMAZON to get the bonus sniper rifle code.

So now it's 6/26 and I'm still sitting here with no game. I know people have been playing it and the game as it hit the stores on the 25th. I go check my order status at Amazon and they have a 6/30 ship date in their system for my order. No biggie, I'll cancel the order and go get the game at a local store. They won't let me cancel the order because it's in progress for being shipped. WTF????? Give me a break Amazon. I've received orders in 3 days from you before. Now you tell me I can't cancel an order that won't even ship for 4 more days?

FU Amazon....I'm never pre-ordering a game from you EVER again. Oh and if you are reading this post, you shouldn't pre-order from them either.

Ah....now I feel better.

I pre order through GameStop / Gamecrazy. They each have a location within 1 mile of me where I can pick up the game on the day of release.

Dude, you can go online and pre order your games on gamestop and have them shipped directly to your house on the day of the release...i had GTA4 sitting in my hands at 12:00 on the release day...It Was a good day

and if you have a gamestop nearby you they give you gift cards sometimes when you pre order a game...somethings you get extra goodies for pre ordering it from the store too.

I dont trust my apartments to not have the game stolen from my door mat or left at the office where who knows when i will get it.

LOL!!!!.....I had the same problem in mine, that's why I always did the in-store pick-up...lol

I actually had the cops bust my door in...I lived across the hall from a big drug dealer and didn't know it until that night, lol. They got the apartments mixed up and thought it was mine...LoL

I only pre-order if I'm going to get the special edition or it comes with something, like GTA 4 and MLB 2k8 with the Jose Reyes bobblehead

One of my employees had this happen at their apartment. The drug squad announced their arrival with an honest to goodness flash bang in a flash and clear. As you can imagine, he said he almost pissed himself.

At least they apologized for getting the wrong apartment.

I wasn't sitting on my couch playing XBOX Live on the 360

Picture this...as soon as the frag explodes on the game, my door bursts off the hinges and all sorts of guns were pointed strait at my head.

i bet the guys i was playing with were wondering wtf kind of guy they were playing with, lol.

I didnt have the flashbang though, I probably would have literally pissed myself if they did...LoL

My dad and I live in an arpartment and they normally just leave it at the front office if theres no answer at the door so we don't worry about shit getting stolen

Oh wow. I think I would simultaneously shit and piss myself if some company knocked down the door and threw a flashbang instead of knocking or ringing the doorbell.
