I'm 24, and as I grew up with a PC, I def remember the 5 1/4s. I remember filling out a card to send to AOL for a free trial disk, you had to say whether you wanted it on 5.25 or 3.5 and high or low density.
While I never actually used them for anything, I remember my dad had trays of 8" floppies sitting around too.
Dude that Nibbler achievement is seriously awesome.
Lastly, as I said I'm 24, so anyone youger than me is an annoying snert and anyone older than me is a geezer that needs to get out of the fast lane. This is especially true of Mayo, even when he is owning me in games!
I agree with you 100% about PC gaming. I love my Xbox so much that I can just put a disc in and it works. That game consoles now have what used to be the main benefits of PC gaming, with downloadable content, updates, multiplayer and custom content, means I will definitely never go back to shelling out a couple thousand every few years just to get my gaming fix. I do miss the mouse and keyboard sometimes, especially when people are greasing me in FPSs, but with practice I am getting decent on the analogs. And I love not having to constantly open options and configs and tweaking settings between a sexy, anti-aliased slideshow or smooth-as-butter, high framerate pixel vomit.
