Alas, it is a real shame, but Bethesda has announced Oblivion support coming to an end; the next downloadable content going to be their last. Oblivion was an amazing game, and I was very glad to see all of the downloadable content available. I think it was one of the most, if not the most supported XBL title by the producer.
To mark the end of Oblivion the new downloadable content, entitled "Fighter's Stronghold" will be FREE the first week it is available. That's right: Free!! Here's a description of the content straight from the Bethesda blog:
"Fighters Stronghold provides the last of four themed domiciles (along with Vile Lair, Thieves Den, and Wizards Tower) for the adventurer on-the-go. You inherit the rights to Battlehorn Castle, located on a lovely stretch of the Colovian Highlands, west of Chorrol. Dining Hall, barracks, wine cellar, training room, and your own private Shrine of Julianos. Update your castle furnishings, perhaps even a Dwemer Forge for the aspiring Armorer? Hire a taxidermist to tastfully decorate your new abode with trophies from your adventuring."
Bethesda has also reminded loyal fans that the boxed version of their Shivering Isles expansion is making it's way to the 360 soon, as well. This may prove cheaper for those of us (me) who have yet to break down and purchase the worthwhile content over XBOX Live. It's a good day to be an Oblivion fan!
