MW2 - FMJ question
11/12/09 11:15 am | #1
So I just got the FMJ upgrade for the M4A1. I saw that the increase to damage is very minimal. I was just wondering how does this equate to killing? Does it take 1 less shot to kill someone? To me it doesn't look like much of a beneficial upgrade. I was just wondering if any of you have played with it and noticed a difference?

I'm gonna use it for the challenges but other than that I don't think it'll be that useful.

I don't think fmj increases damage. It allows you to shoot through wallas and shit. It's just bullet penetration.
I agree with this... I think it's like Deep Impact from the original Modern Warfare.

I use FMJ a lot and I can concur it is for bullet penetration, VERY good on certain maps.

FMJ sounds like it would be good on some close quarters map but then again there is the shotgun attachment

Yeah the FMJ challenge was the toughest attachment challenge for the M4A01 definitely, I just need one or two more online matches and I will have 1,000 kills with the gun and I can finally move onto a second guns challenges.

If you look at the load out screen, when you scroll over FMJ, it actually shows a minor increase to damage given. I really do think that you get a minimal increase to FMJ. With the Bling perk, it doesn't make that challenge very tough. Put the Holo or Red dot on, and put FMJ on as well. Doesn't take much away from the gameplay.
I actually felt as though I took people down with a few less shots. Especially to the appendages.

I actually think FMJ is somewhat explosive rounds, because of the picture it has, and when I fire it it seems to explode a bit.
