This would be an awesome feature for the 360, and I honestly think its capable of it, especially if a PSP can do it!

Yea we can already plug in keyboards and crap, it could handle a browser:)

One issue with allowing a browser is the whole security problem. With Live, it is a controlled environment. With Browsing and IM, your 360 would suddenly be exposed to viruses and spam, not to mention the whole Live network because it acts as the gateway. In addition, the HDD would have space eaten up for IE and MSN Messenger applications, in addition to needing temp folders for storage, cookies and upgardes.
It isn't a simple solution unfortunately. Once a larger HDD come available, they may be able to do something, but I would guess MS would be real hesitant.

Well, you are absolutely correct, and those are the reasons it shouldnt. But I am pretty sure they are working on a 40GB HDD.

I was reading (probably justy a rumor) that they were doing a 100GB.
