I just wanted to give people interested a heads up on what the op said. I just got this game today...I know it's early....don't ask 
But from what I can tell you can only import songs from GHWT, not GHSH. The manual only states GHWT and GHWT is the only game that is in the list of available games to import when the game is in my xbox.
Not sure if they will be available in the future or not, but I just wanted to let all those interested that as of now GHSH is not importable to GH5.

Activision and GH=
That's just retarded. That may have been the only thing to put them back in league with RB. They went to all that trouble of rehashing all the old tracks for Smash Hits and only make WT exportable?! Dipshittery!

From what I've read, more songs from GHWT will be importable later as licensing stuff is worked out. I believe Smash Hits tracks are also expected to be importable later under the same licensing thinger you purchase for importing World Tour tracks.

Yes, you have to pay for each game. It is 280 MS points for each game from what I have been told.
Also, Meta is correct. They are supposed to be adding to the list of songs for GHWT and GHSH. The cost up front is supposed to cover all future songs that become availble as well.

Thanks. I should have figured Activision would be trying to milk even more money out of people.
I paid for importing Rock Band 1 songs into Roack Band 2. That was well worth it. But RB2 still holds my interest today. With all of the good DLC choices and such. GH just can't hold my attention as long as it use to. I think I'm gonna pass on importing my songs into GH5.
