I noticed that the Hollywood Video near my house is doing a Gamefly-esque rental plan. Has anyone tried it/ recommends it or does not recommend it?

I have a hollywood vid near me but they dont offer anything like that that i know of. If they did i would def check it out. I would think it was better than gamefly cuz you could just pick up the new games.

I agree with this. I have yet to have a problem with gamefly.

do you mean it's a game pass? or online renting like blockbuster?
game pass is when you have in store pass and you rent x amount of games at a time during the month .. depending on what pass you have you can rent however mean out at a time like 1 2 or 3

Gamefly is definitely the way to go and you can actually sign up with them right now for $6.95 (new promo they just launched) and their selection puts Hollywood and Blockbuster to shame. So does their selection and the condition of the their games. I don't know what gamefly's doing where quality control is concerned but games are always in excellent shape which is great if you end up wanting to buy something from them. You're practically getting an "off the shelf" quality game but for way less than you'd pay anywhere else and they send along all the equally clean packaging and manuals once you do.
A good 75% of the time I've ever rented a game from some big box retail rental place it's been so banged up it was barely playable. Add to that rarely being able to get a hold of anything I wanted AND having to pay like $10 for a 5 day rental or something ridiculous like that.
Gamefly is the way to go. Don't waste your time and cash on Hollywood.
