Yep, closer release date then Early '09 has been announced.

The good news is that the Mythic Maps sort of have a release date. This morning Microsoft Games Studios announced that the long-awaited Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack, which includes Assembly, Orbital and Sandbox, will be attached to the Halo Wars Limited Collector's edition. That retail product is due in February of 2009. If Halo Wars isn't your cup of tea, rest assured, we're doing everything we can to get these maps on Xbox Live Marketplace as soon as possible after Halo Wars hits retail shelves. Any idea on how much that edition will cost? I'm getting Halo Wars anyway, and if I get the map pack with the LCE, I'll kill 2 birds with one stone.

Yeah but the mythic map pack is 6 maps according to bungie. I consider this a preview of the mythic maps before halo 3 recon is out :)

supposedly MMP WILL have 6 maps, but halo wars (i think this is right?) is only going to have 3 of them (prolly assembly, sandbox, and one other, idk. assembly is def gonna be in it tho) and bungie is trying to get them on the XBLM soon after its release. but everyone who gets halo 3 recon will get the pack, so why waste the points early on?

I'm definitely not getting Halo Wars but I do want the maps, so I hope Bungie doesn't take long getting them on Live.
